Terms of Service
The rules and guidelines for using MUAIn.UK.

1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MUAIn.UK website and platform (“Service”), operated in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
2. Definitions
- “Artist” means a makeup artist who has registered an account on MUAIn.UK
- “Client” or “Visitor” means any person browsing or using the Service to find a makeup artist
- “Profile” means the publicly visible listing page for a registered Artist
- “Subscription” means a paid recurring plan (Bronze, Silver, or Gold tier)
3. Eligibility
To register as an Artist on MUAIn.UK, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of the United Kingdom
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Be a genuine practising makeup artist or beauty professional
4. Account Registration
When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must notify us immediately at support@muain.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
5. Artist Profiles
5.1 Profile Content
As an Artist, you are solely responsible for the content of your profile, including:
- Your bio, tagline, and service descriptions
- Portfolio images you upload
- Pricing and availability information
- Contact details you choose to display
5.2 Content Standards
All profile content must:
- Be accurate, truthful, and not misleading
- Not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or illegal material
- Only include images of work you have personally performed or have permission to display
- Comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations
5.3 Profile Removal
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any profile that violates these Terms, without prior notice. We may also remove profiles that appear fraudulent, inactive for more than 12 months, or that receive substantiated complaints.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
6.1 Free and Paid Plans
MUAIn.UK offers a free listing tier and three paid subscription tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold). Details of what each tier includes are available on our Pricing page.
6.2 Billing
- Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe
- All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and inclusive of VAT where applicable
- Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless cancelled
6.3 Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard or via the Stripe customer portal
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have paid for
- After cancellation, your profile will revert to the free tier
6.4 Refunds
As subscriptions provide immediate access to enhanced features, refunds are generally not provided. However, we may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of payment, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Contact us at support@muain.uk.
7. Search Ranking
Artists appear in search results based on a combination of factors including subscription tier, proximity to the searched location, and profile completeness. Paid tier members receive higher placement in search results. We reserve the right to modify our ranking algorithms at any time.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Content
The MUAIn.UK brand, logo, website design, and original content are the intellectual property of MUAIn.UK. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission.
8.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you upload (portfolio images, bio text, etc.). By uploading content to MUAIn.UK, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service (e.g., displaying your profile in search results and on the map).
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Directory Service Only
MUAIn.UK is a directory and listing service. We do not employ the Artists listed on our platform and are not a party to any agreement between Artists and Clients. We do not:
- Guarantee the quality of any Artist’s work
- Verify qualifications or certifications unless otherwise stated
- Mediate disputes between Artists and Clients
- Process payments between Artists and Clients
9.2 Service Availability
We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from temporary unavailability, whether due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
9.3 Liability Cap
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MUAIn.UK and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your profile content, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Prohibited Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Scrape, harvest, or collect data from other users’ profiles
- Create fake profiles or impersonate another person
- Send unsolicited communications (spam) to Artists
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination:
- Your profile will be removed from the directory
- Any active subscription will be cancelled (no refund for the remaining period)
- Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
